How you can help MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The Mourning Star Center receives no support from state or local government. As we do not charge a fee for the services at The Mourning Star Center, fundraising for all programs must be implemented every year. Although participating families are asked to contribute to the best of their ability, no family is ever turned away.

Over 90% of the families participating at The Mourning Star Center are single parent families and cannot afford the $150 per month cost per child, and many of these families have more than one child. The cost for a child to come to The Mourning Star Center for one year is $2,000.

The Mourning Star Center is the only facility in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties that deals exclusively with the issues of grieving children. Our Director, Pamela Gabbay, is the sole person in these counties who specializes in children's grief. She is a certified thanatologist.

There are several ways in which you can help us help grieving children and their families:

• Make an unrestricted donation to The Mourning Star Center
• Donate through the Sponsor a Child Program $2,000 for one year; $450 a quarter; $150 a month
• Designate The Mourning Star Center as a beneficiary in your will
• Initiate an Employee Matching Gift Program at your place of business
